Soportesyresistencias:zonas,nolíneas

Support and resistance are the most widely watched ideas in technical analysis, which is exactly why they matter: enough traders act on them to make them partly self fulfilling. The common mistake is drawing them as precise lines rather than zones.

Why zones work better than lines

Real markets fill orders across a range of prices, so reversals rarely happen at an exact figure. A zone captures the cluster of prices where buyers or sellers repeatedly stepped in.

Drawing a band instead of a hairline keeps you from being shaken out by a small overshoot that was always within the noise.

Role reversal

When price breaks decisively through resistance, that old ceiling often becomes a floor on a retest, and vice versa. This flip is one of the more reliable behaviours around these zones.

A clean break followed by a hold of the flipped level is a common continuation setup.

Confirming with other tools

Support and resistance are stronger when they line up with round numbers, prior highs and lows, or a moving average. Confluence raises the odds that a zone matters.

Never trade a zone in isolation; use it to frame risk and let other evidence confirm the idea.

Puntos clave

  • Treat support and resistance as zones, not exact lines.
  • Broken levels often reverse roles on a retest.
  • Confluence with other signals makes a zone more reliable.
  • Trading leveraged products carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. This article is educational and is not investment advice.
